WINTER MOUNTAINEERING

Jan-April 2009

Whilst enjoying challenging days out on the winter mountains, you will be learning the skills required to allow safe and adventurous mountaineering.. whatever the weather throws at us!

We aim to do some superb mountaineering routes on local mountains ranging from Torridon to Kintail to the Cuillin, whilst there we will cover the use of ice axe and crampons, snow/avalanche evaluation, navigation, route choice, ropework, climbing skills and snow shelters.

This course is ideally suited to summer hillwalkers / scramblers who want to get into the harsher, more demanding winter mountains. We tailor the content of days so that you get from it what you need and want.
